Employee Benefits Practice Leader (National)
The Opportunity
Our client is one of the nation’s largest privately held insurance brokerages as the executive steward of our Employee Benefits (EB) Practice. In this high-impact role, you will define the long-term vision for the practice, driving enterprise-wide growth, operational excellence, and innovative client solutions. You will serve as a strategic partner to producers and M&A leadership, ensuring our market positioning remains at the forefront of the industry.
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Execute a national EB strategy focused on organic revenue growth, market differentiation, and long-term scalability.
- Growth & M&A Enablement: Partner with sales leadership on RFP development and finalist presentations while providing expert due diligence and integration support for benefits-focused acquisitions.
- Market Intelligence & Innovation: Monitor regulatory shifts and emerging tech to develop competitive pricing, commission strategies, and forward-looking plan designs.
- Producer Development: Coach and recruit talent to strengthen EB capabilities across the organization, particularly within P&C-centric offices.
- Executive Advisory & Partnerships: Act as a senior consultant for complex client challenges and manage high-level relationships with carriers, TPAs, and vendors to optimize financial outcomes and service credits.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee stewardship processes and data analytics to ensure best-in-class retention and client satisfaction.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience: 8+ years in EB consulting, brokerage, or underwriting, with at least 5 years in a leadership/practice management capacity.
- Licensing: Active Life & Health insurance license is required.
- Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of self-funding, alternative financing, compliance, and industry verticals.
- Leadership: Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams, drive revenue, and maintain an executive presence in high-stakes negotiations.
