Commercial Lines Account Manager – Contractors Division

Location: Bakersfield, California

Our client is a growing, nationally recognized independent insurance brokerage seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join its Contractors Division in Bakersfield, CA. Position Overview

The Commercial Lines Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, insurance carriers, and internal stakeholders, delivering exceptional service and ensuring the successful management and retention of commercial accounts. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, contractor risk exposures, and carrier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial accounts with a focus on contractors and construction-related businesses.
  • Provide day-to-day service to clients, including policy changes, renewals, endorsements, and coverage reviews.
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers to negotiate terms and resolve underwriting or service issues.
  • Ensure policy accuracy and maintain high standards of account management and customer service.
  • Support account retention and contribute to client satisfaction initiatives.
  • Assist with agency operations, workflow enhancements, and team collaboration as the office grows.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Commercial Lines Account Manager with strong knowledge of commercial insurance products.
  • Prior experience working with contractor and construction accounts preferred.
  • Strong understanding of commercial coverages, risk exposures, and carrier markets.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
