Our client, a MGU exclusively focused in the Cannabis industry is looking to recruit VP of Business Development. This role will be a senior relationship business development and management role reporting to company CEO. Responsible for broker channel growth and efficiency at all levels, to include the design and implementation of national and international strategic account plans within the agent network.

Duties will include recruiting and managing a salesforce, developing salesforce KPIs and assuming ownership of a small territory.  Additional functions to include: education of agent network/broker channel on Cannabis/CBD/Hemp niche with regards to coverage options.

Job Outline:

  1. Develop marketing strategy business plan in the U.S.
  2. Relationship & education development and on-going management of broker channel.
  3. Enhanced client experience and accelerated growth with top tier partners.
  4. Design and implement standardized annual planning process for marketing unit.
  5. Coordinate client recognition events
  6. Recruiting, training and mentoring/management of marketing team as needed.
  7. Participation in leadership team planning, reporting to CEO.
  8. Location: Tri-State (CT/NY/NJ) or Midwest (IL or MI) preferred

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Insurance Marketing experience at the broker or carrier levels
  • Retail agent/broker channel development skills
  • Relationship management professional with record of success
  • National & International client development skills (Broker Channel)
  • Staff development & management, budget, forecasting and business planning experience
  • Cross functional team skills/exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication
  • BA/BS Degree (advanced degree and/or additional insurance designations are a plus)
