VP, Employee Benefits Distribution, SE Region
Our client, a TPA focused on administration of employer-sponsored benefit programs is seeking a VP, Employee Benefits Distribution. Position will be a key member of leadership team. Ideal for someone who understands how to sell through distribution (brokers/GA/TPA alliances) and help shape new programs as they expand into additional states and products.
Their current business includes self-funded/level-funded medical plans and limited benefit dental and vision products. They are currently an approved claims administrator in 10+ states across the Southeast and is in the process of adding 12+ additional approvals in the Midwest and Southwest to support growth strategy.
Position Outline:
- Responsible for building, leading and scaling the company’s business development function in the Southeast
- Focus on broker engagement, carrier/stop/loss relationships, and expansion of employer group client base
- Day-to-day sales operations of the region
- Requires frequent travel throughout the Southeastern Region
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in employee benefits distribution/sales (TPA, ASO, carrier, stop-loss, MGA/GA, or benefits consulting environment)
- 2+ years of experience managing production-based sales teams or leading a territory/region
- Strong working knowledge of employer-sponsored health plans, stop-loss/level-funded programs, and ancillary/dental/vision products
- Proven ability to build and maintain broker and carrier relationships and to sell through distribution channels
- Existing broker/consultant relationships in the Southeast a preferred
- Familiarity with self-funded/level-funded plan positioning and stop-loss placement a plus
