The Rogan Group, Inc. a Risk Management and Insurance Recruiting firm is assisting our client, a P&C Industry Venture Capital Investor in finding their Head of US Operations.

Location:  Prefer hybrid (in office 1-2 days/week, based in Charlotte NC or Portsmouth NH area).  Open to remote for highly experienced candidate.

Company Outline:

Our client helps entrepreneurial underwriters launch their own MGAs through offering funding, a full suite of ‘plug and play’ services, insurance paper, and expertise.  Since launching in 2017, they have grown rapidly in the UK and Bermuda – its eight businesses write over $500mm in annual premium – and is now expanding to the US.

They are seeking a Head of US Operations to be an early and critical member of the US leadership team.  They are building a diverse team of talented individuals and offers tremendous opportunity for professional growth.

Responsibilities

The individual in this role will drive US operational strategy and be primarily responsible for ensuring the infrastructure and operational processes to support commercial goals.  Day-to-day work will fall into four main categories:

  • Cash / collateral – Oversee premium reconciliations for all US MGAs. Establish and manage bank and collateral trust accounts.  Ensure the right balances are maintained in all accounts
  • DUA – Work with MGAs and third-party carriers to be granted and maintain delegated underwriting authority (including overseeing diligence and supporting audits). Work with MGAs and Lloyd’s to grant and maintain coverholder status. Oversee underwriting bdx reporting to carriers
  • New MGAs – Lead onboarding of new MGAs for all operational functions. Assist in project managing overall onboarding process.  Help establish new MGAs on Beat’s US policy administration system, ensuring consistent operational processes are maintained across all MGAs
  • Broker – Manage broker experience. Ensure broker arrangements are put in place and maintained.  Ensure broker commissions paid properly and provide support for broker back offices

Qualifications:

  • Have worked in underwriting operations at an MGA or in a US P&C insurer dealing with MGAs for a minimum of 6 Years
  • Have recent hands-on experience with cash reconciliations, working with delegated underwriting authority arrangements, and with brokers
  • Have experience successfully managing teams
  • Have strong analytic skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Be authorized to work in the US

Salary: $175,000 – $250,000, DOE
