The Rogan Group, Inc. a Risk Management and Insurance Recruiting firm is assisting a market-leading, technology-centric personal lines insurance agency that is leveraging the best elements of technology with a high-service human-enabled delivery model to spur innovation and growth. Our client is launching a modest roll-up strategy of personal lines agencies to combine with a robust technology solution. Going forward the firm will balance both acquisition and organic growth strategies. Thus, we are now looking for a Head of Mergers & Acquisitions.

Out client was launched this year, with a 100MM commitment from a proven insurance focused PE firm with a history of backing Top 10 National Insurance Agencies.

Position Outline:

1. Title – Insurance Brokerage Head of Mergers & Acquisitions

The M&A Head will collaborate with the Founder & CEO to launch a new platform and build a diverse management team. The M&A function will identify, evaluate and recommend M&A candidates. This position will be the go-to person for management of due diligence workstreams, cross functional strategic integration activities, and facilitating a smooth transfer to the business. The position will drive acquisitions through extensive planning, focused execution and diligent follow-through. This highly visible position will report to the Founder and Board of Directors.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Identify and build relationships with a target list of PL Agencies
  • Build out Spheres of Influence to review acquisition targets/work with M&A Consultants
  • Lead due diligence/analytics/benchmarking
  • Identify Economies of Scale and analyze the book of business for profitability
  • Create and present financial modeling/fair market valuations/price & terms
  • LOI/Definitive Agreement/Close
  • Act as interim GM of acquired companies during integration & communicate w/stakeholders
  • Post deal management (continuity planning)

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree (MBA desired)
  • 5+ years of Financial Services/Insurance M&A experience
  • Proven experience in the purchase or sale of insurance agencies/brokers
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to work with the C-Suite/Board of Directors
  • Ability to WFH and effectively communicate w/team
