Our client is launching a modest roll-up strategy of Small Commercial and Personal Lines agencies to combine with a robust technology solution. Going forward the firm will balance both acquisition and organic growth strategies. We are assisting them with identifying a Head of Carrier Relations.

- Title: Head of Carrier Relations
- Cultivating and managing relationships with insurance carriers and partners
- Responsible for developing and executing strategies to optimize carrier partnerships, enhance the agency’s competitive advantage and ensure seamless delivery of insurance products and services to clients
- Negotiate favorable terms, commissions, and agreements with carriers. Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
- Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities. Analyze data to identify growth opportunities, potential risks, and areas for improvement in carrier relations
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for carrier relations. Regularly evaluate and report on the performance of carrier partnerships, making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, underwriting, marketing, and operations teams to align carrier strategies with business goals
- Represent the agency at industry events, conferences, and forums to foster new relationships with carriers, stay informed about industry trends, and promote the agency’s reputation
- 8+ years experience in carrier relationship management within the insurance industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Strong understanding of insurance products, underwriting processes, and market dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven track record of successfully cultivating and managing carrier relationships.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to guide and inspire cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in utilizing relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM, CRM) a plus.
- Willingness to travel as required.
