Our client is currently looking for a Employee Benefits Operations Manager. This role will help lead a $15–20M Employee Benefits operation, with ownership of budgeting and P&L. Partnering with local and regional leadership, this person will drive profitable growth, strengthen client service, and develop a high-performing team across service and production.About the Company
A leading national insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits leader to help run its local Employee Benefits practice in their Philadelphia Office. The office serves a predominantly mid-market client base and offers the resources and capabilities of a top national firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations and financial performance, including revenue, expenses, profitability, retention, and staffing
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation alongside leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop account management, service, and production professionals
- Build and strengthen training programs on renewal strategy, technical benefits knowledge, and client management
- Provide oversight on complex client situations and major renewals
- Partner with producers and sales leadership to support new business and organic growth
- Develop scalable service models and consistent operating standards
Qualifications
- Significant experience in the Employee Benefits insurance brokerage industry
- Strong technical Employee Benefits knowledge
- Prior leadership experience over operations, account management, service, or production
- Experience managing budgets, P&L, staffing, and operational metrics
- Proven ability to mentor both service and sales professionals
Preferred
- Experience with mid-market clients in the 100–2,000 lives range
- Background with funding strategies across fully insured and self-funded plans
- Experience scaling a service model within a growing practice
- Comfort operating within a large national organization while owning a local business
